The SHS School Funding Initiative enables schools-in-need to acquire supplies and/or services which they could not otherwise obtain. Teachers and administrators submit funding proposals designed to solve specific problems they have identified. Proposals can be tailored to fund a variety of needs, such as supplying classroom materials, equipping sports teams or clubs, supporting after-school programming, etc. Recent examples of resources acquired for schools through the SFI include braille readers for visually impaired students, science lab equipment, instructional support, and AP Calculus textbooks for a school which could not have otherwise offered that course.
To fund SFI efforts, SHS seeks contributions from individual donors, area businesses, corporations, and foundations. Anyone interested in either contributing to SHS SFI as a donor or in applying as a potential recipient please contact:
